How to choose a planning view¶
What this is for¶
Planning views let you arrange tasks in time and check the load of a day, week, month, or year. Reviews help you return to planned work, check completion, and save your conclusions.
How to get there¶
In the side menu, open Planning and choose Day, Weekly Planner, Monthly Planner, Yearly Planner, or Tasks. Today is a separate menu item. You'll find Projects Planner under Goals & Projects. You can reach the reviews using the addresses given in the reviews description.
Step by step¶
- To check the current day, open Today (
/app). - To assign times to tasks, go to Day and choose Timeline.
- To spread work over the coming days, choose Weekly Planner, Monthly Planner, or Yearly Planner.
- To find tasks without a start date, open Tasks and set the filter described in organizing tasks.
- To assess how the plan was executed and save your conclusions, open the appropriate review.
Fields and options¶
| View | When to use it | Address in the app |
|---|---|---|
| Today | Summary of the current day and jump to a task | /app |
| Day | Arranging hours and task durations in a day | /day |
| Weekly Planner | Spreading tasks across the week | /planner |
| Monthly Planner | Moving tasks between dates in a month | /monthly |
| Yearly Planner | Overview of the year and assigning a task to a day | /yearly |
| Tasks | Searching and filtering all tasks | /tasks |
| Projects Planner | Arranging project task ranges on a Gantt chart | /projects-planner |
Project range details are described in the existing Task schedule in Projects Planner. Working on broader ranges is described in planning the week, month and year.
Common mistakes / pitfalls¶
- Today is a summary; you drag onto the hour grid in Day → Timeline or in the Weekly Planner calendar.
- No start date and no time are different situations. A task assigned to a day without a time goes to Without a time in Day → Timeline.
