How to keep up with pet care¶
What this is for¶
The Pets module combines animal profiles with care tasks: walks, medicine, vet visits, grooming. One-off tasks go into the planner, and recurring routines are scheduled into a week in one operation.
How to get there¶
Pick Personal → Pets (/dogs). Which entries are visible depends on
Settings → Modules, Dashboard & Today.
Step by step¶
- Click Add animal and give Name, Species and Profile color.
- Add a task with the Add care task button: pick a quick type (Walk, Medicine, Vet, Grooming), enter Task name, assign Animals and set Duration (minutes).
- For a one-off task pick Date (optional) and optionally Time (optional). A task with a date is scheduled in the planner right away.
- For a routine turn on Repeat on selected days and check the days of the week. Recurring entries stay in the module until they are scheduled.
- Click Plan care routines to spread the routines out: pick a week (This week, Next week or a date), Occurrences, Every (weeks) and days for each routine, then confirm.
- In the Schedule view click a day of the week to see its open tasks. Use Mark done, Reschedule task (Move to today, Move to tomorrow, Choose date…), Sync with planner, Edit task and Delete task.
Fields and options¶
| Element | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Add animal | Animal profile: name, species, color; Archive animal hides the profile from the list without deleting history. |
| Animal bar | All, a chosen animal, Unassigned; the counter shows open tasks. |
| Task name | Required, up to 200 characters; the quick types insert a default name. |
| Animals | Multi-select list; with no selection the entry goes to Unassigned. |
| Duration (minutes) | Required, from 1 to 1440; defaults to 30. |
| Repeat on selected days | Weekly routine; requires at least one day. |
| Occurrences, Every (weeks) | From 1 to 12; repeat the day pattern in following weeks. |
| Views | Schedule (week, sections Needs attention, Today, Upcoming, Unscheduled, Recurring routines) and History (Completed). |
Common mistakes / pitfalls¶
- Checking off a task updates its copy in the planner. If the copy itself cannot be updated, the app warns that the status changed only in the module.
- Plan care routines skips days where a routine task already exists with the same name and time; partially covered days remain selectable.
- Deleting an animal does not delete its tasks — they become detached from the profile.
- A task with no date goes to the Unscheduled section and does not appear in the planner until you use Sync with planner.
