How to track watched movies and game progress

What this is for

You track a movie through its status and watch date. You can split a game into milestones; its progress percentage comes from completing those milestones, and play sessions separately record the time spent playing.

How to get there

Pick Leisure → Movies (/movies) or Leisure → Games (/games).

Step by step

  1. For a movie pick New Movie, enter Title, set Status, optionally the duration and Watch date (schedules it as a task). Pick Add movie.
  2. Open the movie to edit its data. After watching, set Watched and save with Save.
  3. For a game pick New game, enter Title, optionally Platform (optional), set Status and pick Add game.
  4. Open the game, pick Add milestone, enter Milestone and save with Add milestone.
  5. Check off completed milestones; the percentage is the rounded share of completed milestones.
  6. When all milestones are done, pick the suggested Mark game completed to change the game's status as well.
  7. To schedule the playing itself, use Plan play session: enter Task name, duration, Date and optionally Start time, then Create task.

Fields and options

Area Actual options
Movie Title, Status: To watch or Watched, duration in minutes and watch date.
Game Title, Platform (optional), Status: Backlog, Playing, On hold, Completed, Dropped.
Game milestone Milestone, Notes (optional), duration, Plan date (optional), Completed.
Play session Task name, Notes (optional), duration, Date, Start time. Creates a task linked to the game.
Edit, Delete Editing or removal; deleting a game or a movie requires confirmation.

Common mistakes / pitfalls

  • You never enter a game's percentage by hand. It counts completed milestones, regardless of their length; with no milestones the result is 0%.
  • Completing a play session does not complete a milestone. Completing all milestones shows a suggested game status change that you must confirm.
  • A milestone requires a name up to 250 characters; the note is limited to 10000 characters. The game platform is limited to 100 characters.
  • Giving a date to a new movie adds a copy to the planner. Changing the date of an existing movie does not move that copy. The save does not let you clear a saved movie date.

The rules for copying media into the planner are described in planning in the library.
