First-Run Setup Wizard¶
Open Set up LOS on the Today page or Settings → Open setup.
The wizard is available under /onboarding and requires logging in. The
interface uses English, just like the rest of the app's settings.
Flow¶
- Welcome — an explanation of the configuration.
- Your interests — choosing areas on the basis of which the app suggests panels.
- Your panels — choosing optional menu modules. You can keep only the basic tools.
- Your day — time zone, start of the week, task duration, and optional work and sleep hours.
- Preview — a preview of the menu and a choice of Today and Dashboard sections.
Continue, Back, and Finish later save a draft to your account. App settings change only after Save and open LOS. Changes in the current step must be saved before leaving the page. Work and sleep hours require both ends of the range; an end earlier than the start means crossing midnight. Work days can be chosen individually.
A manual panel choice is kept when you return to interests. The Use suggested panels button explicitly replaces it with the suggestions. Turning a panel off keeps its data and does not change profile privacy. The order of dashboard sections is kept; detailed reordering remains in the existing Today and Dashboard editors.
After saving, the app refreshes the interface session so that all views use the new time zone and sleep hours. It does not log the user out. The final screen lets you create a real task, open the planner, habits, or Today. The wizard does not create sample data.
Tips in Modules¶
On Today, a short piece of help appears that you can close permanently with Got it. The first time you enter a chosen module after completing the setup, three short tips appear. Next tip moves forward, Back goes back, and Got it or Skip tips saves the end of help for that module to your account. Settings → Show panel tips again restores the module tips. The hints cover optional modules as well as the weekly planner, goals, and projects.
New Modules After Setup¶
New modules do not automatically change a personalized menu. On Today and in Settings, a suggestion appears: Enable … or Keep … hidden. Both choices are saved; a hidden panel can be enabled later in Settings. Accounts that have not completed the setup keep their previous default visibility. Older completed setups use a fixed set of the 23 original modules.
Returning and Error Handling¶
Finish later returns to Today, where Resume setup opens the last saved step. Dismiss hides the invitation; the wizard remains available in Settings. Running it again after completion starts from your current preferences.
After a save error, your choices stay on screen and you can retry the save. A conflict with another tab blocks further saves. Reload account settings reads the current settings and the last saved draft; unsaved changes in the current step must be noted down first. Newer data is never overwritten automatically.
